Dorval Days

So, I just arrived back in Toronto from my fantastic trip to La Belle Provence. Let's start where we left off, shall we?After posting my last...post...Heather picked us up at the hotel, and we headed out to Clints for night 2 of 2.There, of course, Bob hopped on stage and provided the "crowd" with a rocking version of "People are Strange," "Hey Lawdy Lawdy" and "Juvenile Delinquent" - a song that I got to help out on by singing backgrounds. This time, Kootch stayed in the audience and guarded our drinks.

Oh yes....I forgot to post this yesterday....

An artists interpretation of Bob and Kootch at Clints....pretty self explanitory...After the show, we met up with Bruce Allen, who escorted us back to our hotel (and stayed until 4 am.) Which was fine, until I realised that we had to leave the hotel by noon that day. We spent Sunday afternoon at Kootch's apartment while we waited for our train.(An actual panorama of Kootch's living room.)As you can see by the pictures, we obviously had far too much fun. Kootch told me all about his time in the navy (yes, the boy in the middle is THE William Trochim!!!!)...and how he still knows how to fold his clothes in a military fashion...Thrilling.

At 1700 hrs Kootch drove us to Dorval station, where we caught our train back to Toronto.

I always have such a great time in Quebec and am already looking forward to going back.

Until then,

Au Revoir.

Vouloir, C'est Pouvoir

I did it! I figured out a way to get some of the pictures on the internet. I just plugged my camera into one of the public computers in the lobby, and I had no trouble loading pics onto the blog! Impossible n'est pas francais.
So, let's start at the beginning....sort of....

We arrived at Clints just in time to see the opening act finish her last set. On the walls are replicas of the famous Montreal clubs - Le Mustache & The Edgewater being very important in the history of all Wackerdom.Al (very photogenic) and Heather joined Bob and I for dinner......While we watched Andrew Henderson and The Big City Band play. Amazing stuff - they do a great version of that Canned Heat song....you know the one.... Of course, the highlight of the evening was when Kootch and Bob stormed the stage to perform a few tunes. They started off with Little Queenie (I just noticed I'm on a French keyboard, and there aren't quotation marks. There are, however, accents and cedillas galore...) - a brilliant performance by Kootch.(Halfway through the song, he got hungy and tried to eat the microphone.) Followed by a rousing version of Hey Lawdy Lawdy, headed by our very own Mr. Segarini....With Kootch and Andrew singing backup. All in all, it was a wonderful evening that resulted in Kootch coming back with us to the hotel, and not leaving until 3 am.Good on ya, Uncle K!We're just getting ready to head out to Clints again for night two of the action. Word was circling yesterday that Juvenile Delinquent is being concidered for the Half-Wack tune tonight.

We'll see.

Good Times.

Well, I still can't get pictures up on the internet....

But - I did have an excellent time last night. Heather picked us up at the hotel and we went over to Clint's (a restaurant - not a guy's house.) There, we ate tasty tasty dinner time and watch Andrew play a few sets. He, as usual, was wonderful. Bob and Kootch even got up and played "Little Queenie" and "Hey Lawdy Lawdy." - I could post the video, but THIS COMPUTER HATES ME!!

After a wonderful time at Clints, we (Kootch, Bob and I) returned to our hotel, where we delighted in stories of the olden days, and conversation such as...

Bob: "What do you call that machine that drives across water?"
Kootch: ".....A Boat?"
Jade: "He means Hovercraft."

Kootch is just on his way over to the hotel again. Who knows what hilarity will ensue and how may great pictures I'll take and NOT BE ABLE TO SHOW YOU!!!

Damn Intertubes.

*headdesk*

*Smacking face with laptop*
Remember on that last trip when the 'puter decided it didn't want to load my videos to the net? While, now it's decided it doesn't want my freaking pictures either. They're on the computer, but the internet can't seem to find them on the computer, so nothing (other than text and a single picture of Minnow) can be added to the blog. Hopefully, this is just a temporary problem, and I can load some stuff later (I haven't had a chance to take too many pictures anyway....)

Anyway, we got here around 9 last night. Heather picked us up at the train station. We went to the hotel, where we were met by Kootch and Fernando, and a 6 pack of beer. Kootch and Bob yelled at each other over who played what on each Wackers song. Then we ordered foods (poutine) and went to bed...not all of us together....even though they would have all fit in our GIANT FREAKING HUGE KING SIZE BED!!!

So, here I am....Sitting in the hotel, fighting with the computer. Tonight we're going to Clints to see show 1 of 2 of Andrew Henderson's band. I'll take more pictures then, and hopefully be able to post them to the intertubes. Sigh.

In the meantime, I learned how to crossbread a cat with a snail with a box.

MOM! She's doing it again!!!

Sigh. That's right. I'm on the road again....well, on the rails at least.

In two days, Bobby and I will be embarking on a 4 day trip to Montreal. Nothing unusual, except, for the first time EVER, I'll be taking a train there and back. Don't get me wrong - I've been on trains before. The GO Train here in So. Ontario and many times in England - but never on a book-your-tickets-just-like-on-a-plane-except-your-not-in-the-air train. We're not even in the fancy part of the train - just the economy class for us regular shmoes. But still, it will be fun.

We're going up to Montreal to meet up with some friends of ours: Andrew Henderson, a musician originally from Canada is visiting (and playing) from Nashville, TN. Also, Richie Impressia is coming up from New York, and Norm Vosko might be in town as well.

And of course, we get to meet up with our regular Montreal pals, Kootch, Heather, Ivan, Garry, Iva, Ritchie/Claire, etc.

Ooh! And Poutine! I <3 Poutine!

Anyway, the point is, that the computer will be coming with me, so I'll be posting updates each and every day. And, since I'm staying in a MARRIOTT this time (Thank God....) I'll actually have INTERNET ACCESS!!!!!!!!!!

So, pack your bags! We leave in 2 days!
